Wɜːdəl

Wɜːdəl is an original game that combines word guessing and the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). This game is based on the well-known wordle but with a unique twist. Rather than guessing how a word would appear, players must find out how to pronounce it using the IPA symbol.

In this game, a string of IPA letters representing a secret word will emerge on the screen. It is up to you to determine which word those sounds belong to. However, keep in mind that the IPA representation may have fewer letters than the English phrase.

To play, you must enter words that have exactly five IPA letters. As you might guess, the game uses color-coded tiles to provide feedback. Green boxes indicate that a letter in the word you guessed is in the correct position and corresponds to the IPA letter. The letters in the yellow boxes correspond to their IPA equivalents, despite being positioned improperly.

With each guess, you come closer to discovering the hidden word. You only have a limited number of attempts to complete the puzzle, so act swiftly. Can you win this game and become great at pronouncing words? Try your luck and see what happens!
