Redactle

Redactle wants you to figure out what information has been hidden on a Wikipedia page, which is hard to do. If you like Wikipedia Games, you'll like Redactle.

Describe Redactle.
Wordle can be made in a number of different ways, each with a different theme but the same basic idea. Some games use the "-dle" ending, but they do something different and unique, like Heardle, where you try to guess a song by hearing only part of it.

Redactle puts the onus on you to guess a number of terms correctly in order to find a certain Wikipedia page. It might be the hardest way to play the game. You have to guess the banned words to figure out which article you are reading. When you first start, it will be hard because you won't have anything to go on. However, it will get easier as you fill in more words and understand what the article is about.

How does Redactle work?
Much to the Mueller Report, you will have to guess the word, any word, from a Wikipedia page with many blanks. Once you find the words that have already been found, the essay will be easier to understand. You win if you guess the title of the article correctly.

Redactle does not use every article on Wikipedia, which is a good thing. This list is based on Wikipedia's roughly 10,000 most important Level 4 articles. Compared to the more than 6 million articles on Wikipedia, that is still not a lot. Greco-Roman wrestling, algebraic topology, and Ralph Waldo Emerson could all be topics for an article, but you couldn't write one about classical concerts with rowdy crowds or Fake Bread (yes, that's a thing).

Redactle takes longer than Wordle because you can guess as many times as you want. But the puzzle changes every day, and if you can't figure out the answer, you can click the "Info" button at the top of the page to see it.
